Chi Chapter was organized on the campus of Wichita State University in April of 1970 by 13 young ladies.  The chapter was chartered by Rejesta V. Perry, Central Regional Syntaktes and advisor Clester Woods.  The charter members were:  Gwen Starks, Yvonne Haywood, Patricia DeHart, Garrlyne Woods, Patricia Ray, Dorothy Garrett, Anita Martinez, Pam Johnson, Stephanie Atkins, Brenda Emerson, Mary Jackson, Romona Murdock, and Camille Gooch. 

The chapter helped to elect the first black cheerleader at Wichita State, Soror Gloria Watson.
